We’ve collected 13 inspirational travel quotes and we hope they will inspire you to travel just as much as they inspire us!
Sometimes you end up in situations where you could start to panic. Before I went to Bangkok last year during the military coupe, I was quite worried and somewhat panicky. At the time the news was showing images of the army and military trucks and presenting Bangkok as a dangerous place. Eventually, I decided to attend the event I was going to anyways and things turned out to be fine. Yes, there were things happening, but as I decided to stay away from those places, there was nothing for me to be worried about.
Travel changes a person. Experiences, conversations with people with different perspectives, and having to rely on yourself will make you a different person. I personally experienced this when I went to study in Finland, back in 2008. I learned to trust my intuition and step up for myself. As a child and teenager I was very shy and timid, didn’t dare to express my opinions. In Finland, I learned to do the things that are best for me and to care less about other peoples opinion.
Haha, this sounds very familiar! When we travel we always get lost. Yes, sometimes we just wander and get lost, but there are also times when we really get lost and have no clue where we are. Usually, when this happens it’s around lunch or dinner time and we’re getting hungry. Being hungry isn’t good for our moods, so these are the moments we can get a bit moody and start blaming each other for having no clue where we are.
I love reading and when I have the chance I make sure to put a book or two on my Kindle that are about the country I am traveling to next. Now I’m living in China, I read a lot of books about China and its long history. A few books that I recently read and I thought were good are ‘Midnight in Peking‘ {Paul French} and ‘Beijing Coma
‘ {Ma Jian}. Books I would recommend reading if you are interested in the more recent history of China.
Another quote that I totally can relate to. Back in 2010 when the possibility of going to China first came up, I thought I would have to be crazy to go here. The ideas I had of China were mostly formed by what I had learned in school as well as seen on TV. The media shows us certain things to create an image of a country and these images are often wrong. To use another quote ‘don’t judge a book by its cover’.
Food is such an important aspect of traveling and getting to know a country and its culture, words can’t even describe. I’m open to eating almost anything that people would offer me (certain things excluded) especially since refusing a meal could come across as impolite.
It’s on my list of things I would like to do some time. Just get my backpack, hop on a train (a train here in China), go and see where it will take me. Discover a country as long as I am enjoying it or until the money runs out.
I would say this is the only disadvantage of traveling. With every trip I go on, every place I visit, my desire to see more of our beautiful world grows bigger. Realizing there is so much more to see and realizing I won’t be able to see it all.
