A question a lot of our friends back home ask us is ‘why should I visit China?” They don’t see any reasons to visit China. They think there is pollution all the time, that it isn’t safe to eat local food or are scared by the idea of seeing split pants everywhere.
Yes, you will experience these things during your trip to China, but those somewhat negative experiences shouldn’t hold you back from visiting this country I personally fell in love with. Yes, I fell in love with China, even though I hate it sometimes!
I collected 9 videos about China and travel in China and I am convinced they will answer the question ‘Why should I visit China’ for you!
Growing a beard, Beijing from above & 36 hours in the city
The first video is a video made by Christoph Rehage who, in 2008, walked a year through China. He walked from Beijing all the way to Ürümqi and took photos and videoshots every day. This video is part of his blog, a diary he kept while walking. He, also, but not only, visited Pingyao, Xi’an and Lanzhou.
The title tells you exactly what this video is about. Trey Ratcliff took his Quadcopter to Beijing and flew over many of its famous sites. I think it is amazing!
This video of The New York Times tells you exactly what to do when you only have 36 hours in Beijing to spare. From places to see, food to eat and where to go out.
Timelapse, Beijing State of Mind & China in Motion
Ryan Emond made this beautiful video of China. It shows the people that live here, the scenery and a lot more that will show you why you should visit China. Moments of China consists of both normal paste shots as well a timelapses which makes it really interesting.
People in Beijing do fun things like making a cover of Alicia Keys’ ‘Empire State of Mind’.
A timelapse video of tens of different places in China. I think I watched it 3 or 4 times while writing this blogpost; it makes me want to grab my backpack and travel through China. There are so many great places I still would like to see.
Street food & a travel video
This following video is defenitely going to make you hungry! Xi’an has so many great things to offer when it comes to food, it is just unbelievable. I remember when we were there back in 2011, that I couldn’t stop eating! There were so many snacks that I wanted to try, I could’ve been eating all day.
This last video was made by Qurlson and shows a variety of the authentic, historical and modern China. Personally I like this in videos as it shows how diverse the country is.
Why should I visit China?
If you are still asking yourself this question…. than maybe China isn’t right for you, but hopefully these videos helped answering your question “Why should I visit China?” We also hope that these beautiful videos convinced you to buy that plane ticket and fly to China.
